A New Year and New Beginnings

Posted by Con Man on January 2, 2012 at 8:00 PM Comments comments (0)

After sitting down at my desk and settling down from the party I had just been at, I took the time to browse my music catalog. I was specifically looking at everything I had collected during 2011, and I realized that I could tie almost every song to a memory. Whether it was be playing a video game, like Skyrim, or sitting at a coffee shop late at night talking with friends, music always plays a part in making those memories... well, memorable. Each year brings something different yet equally exciting. The Killers are currently working on their next album, and I look forward to listening and building memories with them as I have done in the past.

2012 is a new beginning; a new chapter in the history of Mojave Rain. Thanks to all of our supporters, we couldn't continue without you. Killers' fans truly are the best. Happy New Year from all of our staff at Mojave Rain and as always, we hope you enjoy your stay.

Along with the New Year, come drastic changes to Mojave Rain. We have put countless hours into revamping almost everything to make it into the beautiful website it is now.  Our goal is to bring more content than in years past; More news and blog entries to keep our readers informed and up-to-date on what is sure to be a busy year for The Killers. We are also working on completing our extensive library of all The Killers' music, complete with album information and reviews for all of their major releases.

Only the Young -The Next Single

Posted by Electromark on August 30, 2010 at 6:17 PM Comments comments (3)

I feel as though I’m the only one who thinks this, but I don’t think Only the Young should be a single. Of what I’ve heard, Flamingo is a great album. But Only the Young is one of the weaker tracks.

Based on The Killers’ single history, there are only 4 singles to an album. With crossfire and swallow it already out, and only the young the next to come, there will be only one more single. Magdalena and Jilted Lovers are much better than only the young, and both deserve to be singles. I also think that the latter two would do better on the charts, as they probably would be more easily excepted and like by the general public. Only the young is stranger and slower, which won’t be a good combination. But who knows? Maybe it will explode and be the next big hit. Maybe he’ll have more than four singles. All I’m saying is, there are way better songs on the album than only the young. It’s not that it’s not good, it’s just that there are better.

This is just my thoughts on one song. Expect a full track-by-track review when the album releases.

The Man on the Move

Today, it was announced that Brandon Flowers is going solo. During The Killers' vacation (If you will), Brandon Flowers has decided to move to start a solo career. His album, which will be released before too long is titled "Flamingo" which is presumably named after a hotel in Las Vegas, which is where The Killers made it big. It has also been announced that despite the move to a solo career, The Killers are not breaking up and they will be back to record a new album after their vacation. (once again, if you will, and you will)

A Countdown to the Future(?)

Posted by Mr. Mojave on April 26, 2010 at 7:33 PM Comments comments (1)

Fellow TK fans, soon, our lives as fans may be changed. We can only hope that the change is for the better. If you do not know what I am talking about, please visit The Killers home page or look at the picture that I have conveniently (conveniently?) placed below.

Ok, assuming that you have looked at the massive countdown ticker, here is my thought on the matter: The Killers have placed this countdown in relation to either their new album (Hey, one can hope can't they?) or some sort of breaking news about their future. I do not believe that the countdown is in direct relation with The Victims for it is not posted on the Victims main page.

Take a close look at the picture. In the distance, there is a sun with its rays lighting up the whole page, which is surrounded and edged with black. It appears as if the sun is setting over large hills or a mountain. Could this be symbolizing how The Killers are growing older but still have much left to do. (Just like in a desert, just because the sun sets doesn't mean that life doesn't go on.)  Next to the countdown ticker, there is a tree. This tree is presumably a joshua tree. "The Joshua Tree" happens to be a U2 album, which, happens to have some of U2's best music in it. Perhaps this is a sign of what The Killers' next album will be like.

No matter what the countdown symbolizes or no matter what The Killers plan on doing in their future, I know that we, as fans, will be there to support them.

Top 10

It's a proven fact that Brandon is one of the most stylish people to walk the face of the earth. It's also a proven fact that Brandon likes to wear jackets. From sparkly gold to feathers, the man loves his jackets. Here are my top ten favorite jackets of his.
